Hoping to play on
Anthony Minichiello and the Sydney Roosters will split after this year.
The Daily Telegraph has been told Minichiello – off contract after the 2012 season – will not be re-signed.
However the star fullback, who has played in five NRL grand finals, wants to continue playing – either in the NRL, English Super League or French rugby union.
Minichiello has played 227 games for the Roosters, 18 Tests for Australia and 11 State of Origin games.
“I am keeping my options open,” Minichiello said.
Roosters skipper Braith Anasta also comes off contract at the end of this season and has plenty of supporters at the club, but no decision has yet been made to re-sign him. Roosters management will have to fight to retain another off-contract star this season, aggressive forward Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

That sucks
Sadly, there comes a time at every club that favourite and loyal players have to make way for others. The trick is who and when. Some of the smarter clubs let older players (with still a bit to offer) go so that the players can still earn a good living for one or two years. Mini could still get a gig with Souths, Cronulla, or even the Titans. I’m sure he only wants one or two years at most. Good luck Mini.
na the sharks wont take him 2 better fullbacks and the club already has mentors in these roles
Tigers could use a experienced fullback to develope tedesco!!!
I recon titans will get him, he will also be with his brother of he dose not leave
Tigers Can use him hed be great combo with Benji
they will resign him, if he has a gun year, him and anasta need a good season to get new contracts…
I don’t think he’d play NRL if it isn’t with the Roosters. He’ll head over seas to maximize his earnings in these last 2 or 3 years he has left
yay!!! come to sharks please!!!!!
